Dorchester

A trishaw with passengers and a volunteer pilot ride along a beautiful scenic bridge going over a river.

Welcome

We give rides to older people and those with mobility and other special needs in Dorchester. Our rides are comfortable, fun and free. If you have an older friend or family member who could do with a little break in their day, who would love to go out of the house, contact us to book a free ride for them.

“The residents really do love getting out and about with your team and it’s lovely to hear their stories when they get back.”

About our Chapter

Cycling Without Age Dorchester is a satellite chapter of CWA Weymouth and was launched when we took delivery of our first trishaw in 2022.

Our trishaw rides

We now have two trishaws (Badger and Lottie) and offer rides to residents in care homes, retirement and sheltered housing, and to education special needs providers across Dorchester, including Salisbury Fields, the River Frome, Poundbury and Maiden Castle. We are able to do rides most days of the week, thanks to a great group of volunteers, who have built connections with local care homes and with other individuals who enjoy seeing their home town from a new perspective.

Our volunteers

All of our pilots are fully trained and are checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). If you are keen to get involved either with the running of the charity or as a pilot, please get in touch with us.

Support us

If your company or business is interested in sponsoring a bike or advertising, please get in contact as shown above. We welcome all contributions to keep this service going for many years.
