CWA Monmouthshire

About the CWA Monmouthshire Chapter

We are proud to be the first Cycling Without Age Chapter to open in Wales!  We first saw that it could be a wonderful idea during the lockdown of the pandemic and have worked hard to get it all set up to be able to offer the wonderful rides to people in and around Monmouth.  We work as part of the Bridges Charity www.bridgescentre.org.uk and are run by the team at the Volunteering for Wellbeing Project who work recruiting, training and supporting volunteers across Monmouthshire http://volunteeringmonmouthshire.org.uk/

We are now open and loving taking people of all ages out!  Each week we especially love taking out children with additional needs from the special needs unit at the local primary school and we have also taken teenagers out with additional needs, offering them the chance to ride with family or friends and enjoy the feeling of the wind in their hair!  Our older passengers have loved exploring parts of the town they couldn’t usually access and enjoyed making new friends, sharing stories and cups of tea!

Volunteers

We have a growing number of wonderful volunteers but we are always looking for more to join the team!  We will offer all the support and training volunteers need and encourage people to get in touch if they would like to find out more!

If anyone would like to become a passenger or volunteer, please contact Marianne Piper marianne.piper@bridgescentre.org.uk
